KIDS COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Swim
The Kid’s Event starts with the swimming component. This leg of the triathlon is contested entirely in the Nelson Park Pool for both the Juniors and Seniors. (Juniors – 100 Meters and Seniors – 200 Meters)

The Bike:
Competitors will exit the swimming pool then run onto the grass to the transition area turning east onto Lake Shore Drive, continuing 1 mile until reaching the turnaround. Contestants then head back, along the same path to the parking lot. This completes the Junior’s 2 mile bike trek. The Seniors continue on the Lake Shore Drive until they hit William street, then turn left and head north-east up the hill until hitting the 2 mile turn around. Contestants then head back, along the same path to the transition area. This completes the Junior’s 4 mile bike trek.

The Run:
Both the Junior and Senior runs start in the same transition area. Again, the runners turn east onto Lake Shore Drive and head north-east. The Juniors run .4 miles until they hit the turn around, then head back to the finish in the pavilion’s parking lot. This completes the Junior’s .8 mile run and the triathlon. The seniors run .6 miles until they hit the turn around, then head back to the finish in the pool parking lot. This completes the Senior’s 1.2 mile run and the triathlon.
